The perpetrator who spread the evil news about South Korean actor Gong Yoo finally got his punishment for his actions. According to Gong Yoo's agency, Management Soop, they will continue to take legal action to address violations of the actors' rights.
"Our company continues to take legal action against rights violations by our actors," the agency said, as quoted by Soompi on Wednesday July 30, 2025. The agency later revealed that the court issued a verdict against a perpetrator who repeatedly spread malicious slander and false information about Gong Yoo.
"And among all, the guilty verdict for the perpetrator, who habitually spread malicious slander and false information against actor Gong Yoo has been handed down, with the Daejeon District Court finding the perpetrator guilty with a prison sentence of 6 months with a probation period of 2 years," the statement added.
"The aforementioned perpetrator repeatedly posted false facts and comments on the internet, which resulted in damage to the perpetrator's reputation, and the court recognized the malicious intent and the seriousness of the crime, thus finding the person guilty," he continued.
For the sake of the comfort of the actors under their auspices, not just Gong Yoo, Soop management affirms its commitment to take firm and uncompromising action against malicious posts and comments targeting its actors.
"Our company continues to monitor and take firm action against harmful posts and comments, just as we do against perpetrators. Including in this ongoing case, we will continue to take firm action without exception or compromise," the statement added.
