NCT's Haechan has been confirmed to make his solo debut. On Tuesday July 29, 2025, local media reported that Haechan will release a solo album this September. This will mark his official solo debut nine years after joining NCT.
SM Entertainment, his agency, has also responded to the news. They stated that Haechan is currently busy preparing his new album. The agency also asked fans to give their support and great attention ahead of Haechan's solo debut. "Haechan is preparing to release his first solo album in September 2025.
We ask for your continued interest," SM Entertainment said in a statement. The agency has yet to announce the name of Haechan's solo album. They are also keeping the concept and songs the 25-year-old will sing under wraps.
Meanwhile, Haechan has shown his abilities in NCT 127, NCT Dream, and the NCT U unit. His continuously improving vocal abilities have been recognized by the public and fans. Born on June 6, 2000, Lee Dong Hyeok, also known as Haechan, joined SM Entertainment in 2013.
He joined after passing the SM Saturday Open Auditions. At that time, he auditioned by singing the song " Baby" by Justin Bieber. In 2014, he was introduced as an SM Rookie, a pre-debut training team. He appeared on EXO 90:2014 . Haechan also starred in The Mickey Mouse Club.
