BTS continues to prove their existence as global pop icons. Despite a hiatus of 3 years and 9 months, the release of their fifth studio album, 'ARIRANG,' achieved fantastic sales figures and broke the group's personal record.

Based on data from the Hanteo Chart website on March 27, 2026, the album 'ARIRANG' was recorded as selling 4,169,464 copies in just the first week after its release (March 20, 2026). This figure surpassed the previous record held by the 2020 album 'MAP OF THE SOUL: 7', which sold 3.37 million copies.

Even more impressively, the album took just 10 minutes to become a million-seller and was immediately crowned the best-selling album of 2026. In line with physical album sales, BTS's digital performance is also strong.

As of March 27, 2026, the album has topped the charts in 115 countries/territories on Apple Music, including major markets like the US, Japan, Germany, and Mexico. Then on Spotify, the title track "SWIM" held the No. 1 spot on the "Daily Top Songs Global" for 6 consecutive days (March 20–25, 2026).

Meanwhile on the Japanese Oricon chart, BTS achieved a Triple Crown by topping the "Weekly Combined Album Ranking," "Weekly Album Ranking," and "Weekly Digital Album Ranking."
