South Korean singer and actress Nana has been confirmed to appear in court for the robbery of her house that occurred late last year. Her appearance aims to provide firsthand testimony regarding the traumatic incident that befell her and her mother.
On March 28, 2026, Nana's agency, Sublime, told the media that the artist would appear in court on April 21, 2026. "Previously, Nana was forced to request a postponement due to an official schedule that could not be missed. However, the schedule has now been adjusted," the agency said.
The incident occurred on November 15, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m. A man in his 30s (initials A) allegedly broke into Nana's residence in Acheon-dong, Guri City, Gyeonggi-do, with the intention of robbing her.
In his attack, the man reportedly committed acts of violence, choking and threatening Nana and her mother in order to obtain valuables. Although he suffered injuries, the attack was ultimately unsuccessful after the perpetrator was subdued at the scene.
In the first trial held last January, suspect A denied most of the prosecutor's charges. Through his lawyer, he claimed he thought the house was empty and only intended to steal, not commit violent robbery.
He also claimed he wasn't carrying a sharp weapon and countered by claiming he was beaten unilaterally. The perpetrator claimed he only held Nana's shoulders to calm her down, not strangle her. He also claimed that Nana attacked him with the sharp weapon as she left the room.
The perpetrator even asked the court to conduct a fingerprint examination on the sharp weapon found at the location, claiming that the object belonged to the occupant of the house, not him. The trial escalated after suspect A reported Nana to the police on charges of attempted murder and special assault before the first hearing.
However, the police closed the case, deeming Nana's actions legitimate self-defense. In response to the false accusations, Nana, who was furious at the perpetrator's victim-blaming actions, has filed a counter-suit for false reporting (defamation).
The court will now focus on proving ownership of the sharp weapon and the physical violence. Testimony from Nana and her mother is expected to be key in uncovering the truth behind this incident.
