BLACKPINK's Jennie showed her generous side by donating 100 million won to help elderly people in need. This news was revealed through Sean's social media post on February 24, 2026, where she shared a donation certificate that included Jennie's real name, Kim Jennie.
The funds are a combination of proceeds from Jennie's personal photo exhibition "J2NNI5," held last January, and her own personal funds. The donation was distributed through the "Raise Korea's Temperature by 1 Degree" campaign to help procure coal briquettes for the elderly.
Sean explained that the assistance was very meaningful because it could purchase around 112,000 briquettes which were enough to warm 560 families for one month in the middle of the freezing winter.
According to Sean, for many underprivileged people, coal briquettes are not an option but a basic necessity for survival. He concluded his message by thanking Jennie for making Korea a warmer place. Jennie had previously planned this social initiative to celebrate her 30th birthday.
She held a photo exhibition in the Jongno-gu area of Seoul from January 16th to 29th and released a photobook limited to 3,000 copies. From the start, Jennie was committed that all proceeds from ticket sales for the exhibition would be used for charitable purposes.
Meanwhile, Jennie is also preparing to return to the music scene with BLACKPINK. The group is scheduled to release their third mini-album, 'DEADLINE', on February 27, 2026.
