IU has been forced to postpone the release of her new album and concert due to her current health issues. IU's comeback has been confirmed by her agency EDAM Entertainment. The Blueming singer plans to release her latest album, followed by a concert in September.
She's even tapped actor Heo Nam Jun to star in the music video for her upcoming song. Her domestic South Korean tour was originally scheduled to open at Goyang Stadium. But on Monday (July 20, 2026), IU announced that her plans would have to be postponed.
Her patulous Eustachian tube is currently in poor condition. Through the Berriz platform, IU addressed UAENA directly, explaining her album release and postponed concerts.
"My ear symptoms have always been erratic, fluctuating between getting better and getting worse, but recently, they've been persisting day and night for days on end, and I've repeatedly found it difficult to get back to peak performance when singing," she said.
"I'm truly sorry, and I love you all so much," IU continued. Her sixth studio album has been recorded, but its release has been postponed for several months. IU also needs to ensure she's physically ready for promotions, including concerts.
So, IU's planned September comeback has been postponed. It could be until early next year. News of her health and the release delay emerged not long after her romance with Lee Jong Suk ended.
